Founder & CEO
Erica is the founder and CEO of Unlikely Heroes, a non-profit organization devoted to rescuing and restoring child victims from sex slavery. With restoration homes located around the world, Unlikely Heroes is providing hope and freedom to our most vulnerable populations. Erica earned her MSW in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley and has used her academic and real world experience to successfully develop and implement effective prevention, rescue, and aftercare programs for the rehabilitation and restoration of sexually exploited children. Erica’s combination of experience, passion and entrepreneurial vision continue to drive the mission at Unlikely Heroes forward. Since the organization’s founding in 2011, Erica and her team of dedicated and caring professionals have successfully built and developed restoration homes in the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, and the USA. In 2014, Erica and her team were asked to go to Nigeria to provide trauma counseling, education and medical services to the schoolgirls that had escaped the mass kidnapping from the Government Girls Secondary School in Northern Nigeria. In 2015, Erica was a guest speaker at TEDx, The Blaze, and TVC News, to advocate for child victims of sex slavery, and she continues to be a popular speaker for universities, churches, and conferences around the world.
